CHARDHAM YATRA 2024
Every year, the Uttarakhand government announces the opening and closing
dates of Chardham Yatra from which devotees can travel to worship their
deities. In the year 2024, the Chardham Yatra is set to open on 11 May 2024 on
Akshya Tritya. The registration for the same will starts from 08 May 2024.
Chardham Yatra remains open until October end or Starting November, and then
idols move to a different place during the winter season.
Chardham Yatra is a circuit of four temples, Yamunotari, Gangotri,
Kedarnath, and Badrinath dedicated to four gods, named, Goddess Yamuna, Goddess
Ganga, Lord Shiva, and Lord Vishnu, respectively. These temples have their
particular opening and closing dates according to the Hindu calendar. Let us

These are the tentative dates of the opening and closing dates of these
temples. The final dates are yet to be confirmed by the official authorities.
Before going for yatra, devotees have to register themselves of the
official website. The Chardham registration for this year will start from 08
May 2024. This practice helps the officials to manage everything appropriately
without any fail. It also aids them to look after the required number of
accommodations, transportations and other facilities.
MODES OF TRANSPORT TO REACH CHARDHAM
Chardham yatra is a popular yet toughest trek to do, as you require a
time span of around 2 weeks to complete the entire journey in one go. However,
completing the yatra in one go is not possible for everyone as people from
different age groups, including children, teenagers, adults, and senior
citizens.

1. By Air: It is one of the easiest ways to
reach Chardham. You can book your flight to Dehradun and from there you can opt
for cab or bus to reach the starting point of trek.
2. By Train: You can reach at the Haridwar or
Rishikesh railway station through train. From there, you can choose cab or bus
either private or public to initiate your journey.
3. By Car: You can easily go by private car or
cab, once you reach at the starting point of trek. Then, you can opt for
helicopter, trek, pony, etc according to your convenience.
